Day 6 / Start of Week 2 of Insanity

Yesterday was day 6! I repeated the workout I did on Tuesday, Plyometrics Cardio Circuit. Each time I do this work out, I like it more and more. I actually felt stronger and had more endurance this time around then I did the first time doing it. I love the feeling afterwards of accomplishment. I am excited I finished week 1 and Can't wait to see what week 2 brings.

Week 2 Meal Plan

Here is my meal plan for this week. With Insanity you definitely BURN a ton of calories and are seriously HUNGRY all the time. I make sure I eat every 3 hours max. I am doing a combination of the 21 Day fix and Insanity meal plan. My goal is to eat 1500 calories every day, if not more and I am making sure that they healthy foods and not junk food or processed foods.

Day 5 of Insanity

Hello!!! Happy Friday!!! I got my insane insanity workout in this morning!! And all I can say is Oh Em Gee!!!! It was amazing, intense and crazy!!! When he says Pure Cardio, he means pure cardio. We started out, just like every video and did a 10 minute warm up, which is a workout in itself! Then we moved into a 6 minute stretch and then we did the Pure Cardio. The Pure Cardio in itself is 18 minutes long. You do each move for a minute, so overall you do 18 moves, without stopping and without his water breaks. Now you can stop check your heart rate grab a drink of water, but I didn't do it often and I kept moving. It was definitely intense, but it was awesome. I feel amazing after it!!!  I loved every minute of it and can't wait till next week to do it all over again but better and harder! Tomorrow is a repeat of Monday's workout and then Sunday is an off day. I can't believe that I made it through the first week!! It is all due to the support and motivational group I am running. We are all doing this together and it is truly inspiring to hear each other encourage one another!

Cadio Recovery and Recovery Is what I needed!!

Good Morning!!! Day 4 of Insanity complete! Today was an easy day!!! It was Cardio Recovery. So what does that mean? It meant that today was all about recovering the muscles from the past 3 days of power, cardio and going full out! Cardio Recovery helps your body and muscles prepare for more insanity and to be able to continue to push hard for the next 2 days. Insanity is a 6 days a week program that takes Sundays off and uses every Thursday as Cardio Recovery, to recover your muscles and prepare yourself for the next 2 days. I liked the cardio recovery and I know my body needed it, however I am not going to lie, I like a good sweat and you definitely didn't get that with these stretches. But that is okay, because I know I will be able to push harder and go stronger tomorrow!

Day 3!!! Whoop Whoop. I made it half way through the first week!!

When it comes to Insanity, it truly is a mind game! I am learning each day to psych myself up before I go to bed about the next days workout. Why? Because I know if I do that, then I will be excited to workout and want to get out of bed. Yes, it is hard for me to get out of bed on days that I have no motivation at all, so I create my own. I tell myself that I am going to be better than Tayna  and that I am not going to give up when she does or when someone else does. I remind myself of why I am doing this and what my end goal is. And trust me, with insanity you need to remind yourself daily!

However I do see why people love this program. The feeling I get after completing the workout is like a high. I not only feel like I just won and accomplished something great, but my body feels amazing and stretched out and good all over. Yes tired but a good tired and good sore!  Have you done Insanity? Would you be willing to try it? You can do anything you but your mind to! Remember its all mind over matter. :)

Plyometric Cardio Circuit Day 2 of Insanity

Good Morning!!! Challenge Accepted!! Today was the true test of Insanity. It was 42 minutes long and I burned 400 Calories!!!  I told my husband that I probably could have burned more but I was learning the moves and trying to pace myself and not jeopardize my form. I did my best and am forgetting the rest. I  know that each time I do this workout I will get stronger. I am proud of myself for how well I did do the first time through.

So what was the work out like? Well it was 42 minutes long and the first 10 minutes was a fast pace warm out circuit. We went through the circuit 3 times each, starting at 30 seconds per move working up to a minute per move. It was good and got the heart rate up and the blood flowing for the morning. Then he moved into a 10 minute stretch where we stretched all our muscles, especially the legs. After that we moved into 2 different circuit's that were fast paced and up and down.  The circuits went through 3 times each getting longer each time through. There wasn't a lot of jumping in this workout. There were 3 different types of plank moves, where I had to slow down and go at my own pace and I had to stop and get into childs pose for a few seconds to stretch my arms.

This work reminded me of how he sets up Speed 2.0, Core Speed, and Speed 3.0 in T25 however, instead of it getting shorter by round 3 it gets longer. :)

Am I in love with this program? Not yet, but I see myself falling in love with it. It was definitely the switch up I needed. I can't wait to see my results in 60 days!

Day 1 of insanity

Good Morning!! Happy Monday! Day 1 of insanity is complete! I did the Fit test this morning. It was 26 minutes long. There was about a 5 minute warm up and 5 minute cool down. The fit test was 8 different moves done for a minute straight. The moves were different types of squat jumps, push ups, planks, kicks, power jacks, power knees, etc. All the moves were power moves that worked every inch of your body. I am not going to lie, I am actually sore after doing it. But it felt great and I am excited to see how my numbers increase over the next 60 days. The fit test is done again on day 15, so we will see then. Tomorrows work out is Plyo Cardio Circuit, can' wait to update you on how that goes. I am doing all these workouts in the morning. I am morning person and prefer to start my day with my workout. So 6 AM every morning is when I will be doing Insanity.

Here are my Fit Test results for Day 1.

Insanity starts Tomorrow!!!!

Tomorrow I start my journey with Insanity. Day 1 will be the Fit Test. I am excited and nervous at the same time. I am excited to start something new. Yet, I am nervous because of how long it is, how intense it is going to be, and I don't want to give up!! So you will be taking this journey with me and being my accountability partner. I plan on posting 5-7 days a week about my journey and how I truly feel, what I like and don't like and my meal plan.

I will be doing the 21 day fix meal plan along with the insanity program. I have to go up in containers from where I am at now. I am not happy about that because I struggle getting all my carbs / starches in on a daily basis because I have celiac's and have learned to live without them the past 14 years. However, I will eat everything I am told to eat because I want to have the energy and ability to do Insanity and say I finished it!

Here is a copy for my meal plan for week 1 of insanity.

Check back with me tomorrow on how Insanity Day 1 Fit Test Goes!! :)

Good Ole Grange Fair!

The Grange Fair - A Family Tradition

Ever since I was born I have been going to the Grange Fair. You may be wondering what the grange fair is.  The Grange Fair is a Family Tradition and has been going on for 140 years now. The Grange Fair is a city within a town. People come in to Fair and live for more than a week, in tents and campers. This fair is one of the biggest Fairs in the world. People not only come to live for a week but they come to see concerts, ride rides, eat the amazing and yet unhealthy food, play games, and of course see the livestock shows and competitions. The Grange Fair is one of the most uniquely friendly "hometowns" in America!

Like I said earlier this fair has been going on now for 140 years. I have been going to the fair for 30 years. There was never a year that I missed, even when I was in elementary school, middle school, and high school. My mom, who grew up going to the grange fair, pulled us out of school every year to attend this amazing fair. I never had a first day of school with everyone until I became a teacher because of the Grange Fair.

You may be asking what is so special about this fair, and honestly it is undescribed. This fair is seriously like no other fair. The tents that you stay in our like homes. They have beds, electricity, stoves, kitchens, tables, beds, couches, etc. This is not like a camping trip you to take to the woods. Many famous country stars started out preforming at the grange fair. Garth Brooks performed at the fair before he was huge. My uncle always tells the story how he went and saw him and said to my aunt,  he is going to be famous one day. And well I guess you could say he was right. :) The grange fair is a good luck for any and every country singer that has ever come to it, to preform.

We have our own tent at the fair. The tent is in the perfect spot, right beside an intersection. So I love to go and sit and just see all the people and old friends and family. Its like a HUGE family reunion. I have always enjoyed going to the fair, however, if I went for the week nowadays I would end up gaining 10 plus pounds with all the fair food. The bad thing about the fair is there are not many places to get quality healthy food. So this year I am going for 2 days and allowing myself to have one treat each day.

If you have never heard of this fair and live in the Centre County area or outlining areas, this is a must go to. Just for a day to walk around and take it all in. :)

Mexican Spaghetti Squash Casserole

So who out there loves Mexcian food? I do! I love Mexican food and really anything spicy! However, I don't like not knowing what is in my food. So I try to recreate Mexican food in a cleaner, gluten free, grain free way! Creating new recipes is enjoyable!

The other night, I was craving a spaghetti squash I went out and bought one! They are the best! They are so easy to make and prepare and you seriously can eat them any way!

So with my squash I decided to make it into a Mexican dish / casserole. It was amazing and delicious! So what did I use? I used a spaghetti squash (of course), spinach, green peppers, ground turkey, pico de gallo, and cheese. You can add more things and spices if you want to make it your own or more spicy or less. It takes about an hour to an hour and 10 minutes for it all to cook and be prepared but its worth it. Also this recipe is 21 day fixed approved!

A spaghetti squash is considered a winter squash and its a vegetable. So with my recipe I made it that I used 3 greens, 1 red, and 1 blue.

Here is how you make it.

Ingredients
1 whole spaghetti squash
10 spinach leaves
4 tablespoons of pico de gallo
1/2 green pepper chopped
1/4 cup of shredded organic mozzarella cheese
3/4 cup of ground turkey or 1 turkey burger

Directions
1. Preheat oven to 350
2. Place Spaghetti Squash on pan in preheated oven for 1 hour.
3. 30 minutes into squash cooking turn it over
4. Check squash when the time goes off and make sure it is squishy all around
5. Cut in half  long ways and scoop seed out
6. Scrap inside to make spaghetti type strings
7. place in bowl
8. Top with ground turkey, cheese, spinach, pico de gallo, green pepers, and any other toppings you choose.
9. Place back in oven for up to 5 minutes to melt cheese and other ingredients.
10. Remove from oven and enjoy!

My Why

When you wake up in the morning are you happy? Do you love what you do? Are you passionate about your job?

For the past 2 years I went to bed crying and woke up crying everyday. Why? Because I lost my passion and drive. I didn't like my full time job any more and was scared to live the rest of my life the way I was living. I was miserable and it reflected in my relationships with my fiancé, family, and friends.

Ever since I was a little girl, I only wanted to be a teacher. I loved teaching little kids and seeing them grow and learn. However, teaching is no longer what it was 8 years ago, I lost my passion which just crushed me and my dreams. Teaching doesn't make a lot of money and I knew that from the get go, but these past 2 years politics have changed teaching and the attitudes of people and teachers and I no longer have the drive to do it. I hate waking up every morning feeling miserable. No matter what I did, I couldn't change the way I felt!

A year ago my passion was reignited, a passion for BEACHBODY! With Beachbody I have found a passion that I love and want to do everyday 24/7 for the rest of my life!! My new found passion is somewhat like teaching!Beachbody has changed my life not only in the health and fitness sense but it has made me happy again and loving what I do! I love helping people and I love health and fitness and combining the two has sparked a fire in me that is stronger than I have ever felt or had before! So I have decided to chase my dream and passion and in June I resigned from my full time teaching job and will be taking Beachbody on full time. I am excited but I am scared to death.

I have always lived on my own and only had me to worry about. But now I am a married woman and am no longer just worrying about me any more, I am worrying about my husband and hopefully one day our kids. My husband has taken a job that has us moving and with me chasing my dream we are down to a 1 household income that isn't a lot. Plus we have a wedding and other debts to pay for. My biggest fear is debt and starting a marriage out in debt. I wake up every night stressed and in a panic that I will fail at this and we will struggle for the rest of our lives. I don't want to let anyone down especially my husband!

However, fear is good and I truly believe in Beachbody and all their products and I have amazing coaches under me that are rocking their buisness and helping others reach their goals and dreams, and I have an amazing support group of coaches that are or have gone through this and these feelings. And most of all I have my husband encouraging me all the way!! I am blessed to have found Beachbody and my new Beachbody family! I know that no matter what happens they will be there to support me through all my ups and downs while I chase my dreams and make a future for my husband and I!

Shaun T the man that started it all for me!

Yes, this is me with the REAL LIVE SHAUN T!!!!!

At summit I was blessed to be have the opportunity to have my picture taken with one of our celebrity trainers. My choices were Chalene Johnson, Tony Horton, and Shaun T. It was a hard choice because I love each of these celebrities. However, as I stood in line I thought about how I got to where I am and how my journey started.

Shaun T is the man who forever changed my life. I know that he didn't really do anything and that I did it all but, he came out with a program that caught my eye. T25 was a life changer for me. When I saw postings about T25 and how it was only 25 minutes a day, I thought I can do 25 minutes a day. That is perfect for me to come home from work and do it. 25 minutes is nothing. I use to be a runner but I got bored with it and wanted a change up. I lifted 6 days a week but wasn't getting the results I wanted so I thought adding T25 to my routine might help. Well let me tell you, it did more than just help me!! I lost 13 pounds doing T25, gained my self confidence back, and saw my abs for the first time in life!!!! I feel in love not only with the results of T25 but the entire program. Doing 25 minutes a day was a no excuse for me. I made sure that I made time for it every day and did it to my fullest. I got amazing results from it but also gained the will power to say no to eating out all the time and eating horrible foods and making the excuse that I worked hard all week so I can eat like crap on the weekend.

I did 2 rounds of T25 and absolutely loved it! After T25 I did P90x3 and got even more amazing results. P90x3 toned up my body and gave me definition that I never thought I would see at the age of 30, so it was hard for me to not pick Tony too. However, Shaun T started my weight loss journey and Beachbody Career. I owe it to him for making an amazing eye catching program!

Beachbody is no joke! The programs work! It doesn't matter if they are 25 minutes long, 30 minutes long, or an hour. If you stick to them and follow the schedule you will get results. Working out is a science and these programs are all scientifically made and tested before they are ever released!!!

Thank you Shaun T for giving me back my confidence and showing me what my abs look like! Also thank you for pointing the way to Beachbody and the amazing company that I now and proud to call my FULL TIME job!!!!

P.S. T25 is on sale this month. Message me if you would like to learn more about it and how you can get your hands on it.

Workout Shoes

Here is the picture of my new workout shoes I bought on Saturday. I love them.

However, I get the same shoes every time I go! Why? Because I choose comfort and performance over style when it comes to working out. Now if we were talking heals, boots, sandals....then I pick style over comfort! haha

Don't get me wrong I would rather choose style over comfort and performance when it comes to my workout shoes, but that won't help me. When I wear a tennis shoe that isn't right for me or a tennis shoe that is pretty and full of designs, my body suffers. When I work out I give it 100% and if I don't have the right shoe then my knees suffer, my low back aches, and my hips hurt! Wearing the wrong shoes makes me fee OLD.

So every time we got to rapid transit, which is like every 3-4 months to get a new pair of shoes, I hand them to the guys working there and say same thing please! And then I hope and pray that he comes out with a new color and something cool! Some times he does and other times he doesn't. But knowing that I am going to get the most out of them is what counts. And to be honest, no one sees them. I work from home, I work out from home, and I only wear them to work out in.

When you go workout shoe shopping do you pick the shoe based on style or comfort?
