If you NEVER try, then you will never KNOW

If you never try, then you will never know!

What holds you back from going after what you want? What holds you back from trying something new?

Is it fear?
Is it failure?
Is it disappointment?

Whatever you feel, whatever is stopping you from trying, from going after your goals and dreams....PUNCH THEM IN THE FACE!!!

That is right! Punch your fears of failing, disappointment and scared in the face and throw them away!! Don't let those feelings stop you from something greater!! From reaching your goals! From feeling amazing and confident in yourself again!

Change can be scary. Setting goals can be scary! But don't let being scared stop you! Set realistic goals for yourself but also set a high goal that you would love to see happen. Change. Allow yourself to try new things. Venture away from your comfort zone and do the things you have been wanting to do.

Eat clean, workout, look for a new job. Whatever it is, DO IT!! Don't think twice about it. You may fail, you may fumble, you may even make mistakes. BUT think....what if you succeed! What if you stick to the plan, what if you workout daily, what is you do get that new job! Think about what amazing things CAN happen and not about the things that might NOT happen!

Believe in yourself! And get out there today and START trying because you just never know until you do!!!

Transformation Tuesday - Kristin B

Here is Kristin B. She went from a size 10-12 weighing a 147 pounds to a size 4 weighing 120 pounds!!! How?!?! By using the 21 day fix and Shakeology. The 21 day fix is Game Changer. This program is all about portion control. There is no counting calories. You pick what you want and as long as it fits in the containers you get with the program then you can have it. The program does tell you how many of each serving you get based upon weight. It also comes with you first month of Shakeology and 10 different 30 minute workouts. The whole thing lasts 21 days and I have had clients lose anywhere from 5 to 15 lbs in 21 days.

The greatest thing about this program is that you don't have to stop after 21 days. I have clients that go on to do multiple rounds like Kristin, until they read their goal weight. Plus this nutrition plan can be used with nay workout after the 21 days.

I chose this transformation because I truly believe in this program. The 21 day fix has not only changed my life, but it has changed my husbands life! Right now my husband is going through rehab for his torn quad tendon. Most people when they have a serious injury like that end up gaining 20+ pounds because they are no longer mobile and able to workout. Not my hubby!!! He has gained 0 pounds, yes he has lost muscle but he gained nothing!!!! Why? Because he drank shakeology daily and followed the 21 day fix program!!

Whether you are a man or a woman this program works!!! And the best thing about this program, is that it is on sale for the month of January!!! So if you are ready to make that lifestyle change and change your eating habits, message me. Email me at jgerity83@gmail.com and I would love to help you get on track and reach YOUR goals!!

Health and Fitness Tip #8 - Police Your Portions

Police your portions

Does your steak take up more than half your plate? Think about cutting your serving of beef in half. That's because it's best to try and fill half your plate with veggies or a mixture of veggies and fresh fruit, so that it's harder to overdo it on the more caloric dishes (like cheesy potatoes or barbecue sauce–slathered ribs!).

Policing your portions can be tough if you don't have the right tools. That is where the 21 Day fix comes in handy! I am not trying to be saleys but the 21 Day Fix is all about portion control and balancing your nutrition. You can't eat 5 servings of fruit all day, a huge steak, and a helping a veggies and say you ate well. You need to balance your nutrition out with fruits, veggies, starches, protein, and healthy fats. And with the 21 Day fix, it teaches you how to do all that, while still enjoying what you love to eat. And the best part is, its simple, easy and there is no guess work!

Day 1 of Insanity Max 30

Good Morning!! Its the first Monday of the new year and I am starting it out with a new program and going back to my 21 day fix eating plan! I can't wait to post about my progress and changes in my body with this new program.

And all I have to say about day 1 is......OMG!!! I don't know what else to say about insanity Max 30! Today was day 1 cardio challenge! My goal was to make it 15 minutes or max out after Shaun T. Yes I am competitive and it's what pushes me harder with my workouts! Well I made it to half that goal! I didn't max out till minute 16.52!! And Shaun T maxed out at 17 so I wasn't far behind him! It was the should tap in and out abs that got me!

This program is seriously unbelievable!! It worked my abs like no other and in 30 minutes I burned over 350 calories! I think I am in love haha!

Newly Wed Tip #4 - Give your spouse 1 night

Newly Wed Tip #4 - Give your spouse 1 night! What does that mean? Allow them one night to do what they want, eat what they want, and go where they want. (Date night but of their choice)

I love to cook, so I do all the meal planning and prep for the week. I plan ahead so I always plan and prep on Sundays. However, I only prep and plan for 6 nights. I plan and prep Sunday - Friday and then the morning and afternoon of Saturday. I do not prep and plan for anything on Saturday night. Why? Because Saturday nights I allow for my hubby to choose. If he wants to go out we go out, if he wants to stay in we stay in, if he wants to drink beer, I drive, etc. I am all about fitness, working out, and eating clean and Rich supports me 100% of the time, but guys like to eat and drink their beer, so I give him one night to have a treat meal and to enjoy his beer. When I do go out with him, sometimes I choose to have  treat and sometimes I choose to eat cleaner. But whatever I do, I allow him to pick the place where he wants to go and then I pick what I want to eat when we are there.

Yes, something as small as this, allowing him to choose one night, goes a long way and this one night will allow your hubby to continue to follow your weekly plan, knowing they get one night to choose the meal.

No, I don't like going out, but not because its not clean and I don't want to gain weight, but because I have celiac's and its hard to go to restaurants and not get sick due to cross contamination. Trust me, if I could have a cheat meal when we go out I would, but a lot of the times I am stuck with  piece of chicken or a salad because they will not be contaminated or are least likely to be contaminated by gluten. BUT, I do it, I go out, I have a meal with him, because that is what he wants and I get what I want 6 out of the 7 nights, so its only fair. And yes I am the DD, I don't drink very often, if at all anymore and I want everyone to be safe, so I don't mind being the DD so that he can enjoy his beer and relax after a football game or even at the school. I know he would do the same for me.

So ladies, as tough as it might be to allow your husband to choose the night out / date night, give it to him. It will go a long way in your marriage. And I have noticed that with Rich, it allows for him to learn to appreciate my cooking more and how he feels better on it then the restaurants.

Weekend Motiation

Good Morning! Happy Friday!!!

You did it!! All that stands between you and the weekend is the next 8 hours!! Remember you can do it! Just breath and believe!

This weekend work hard to stay on track. Make a to do list for each day! Make sure you fit your workout in or some physical activity that will get your heart rate up and a sweat going. Also make sure you stick to your meal plan. Don't fall of track and ruin all the hard work you did this weekend for that beer and pizza or those chips and dip! Allow yourself a treat if you want one but don't give in to the football party food! Remember you have goals to meet. Remember your why and what you are working for! Drink lots of water and most importantly, believe in yourself!

Need help? Need motivation and support? I am here for you!! Message me!!!

#TBT

Living a healthy lifestyle is hard! But I have learned to love, myself enough to do it. Do you?

Any one can workout, go to the gym, run, walk but that is only part of it. The other bigger part is eating healthy. It's not going on a diet and doing it 20 days and then going back to your old routine. It's a lifestyle change.

If you can see from my picture of winter 2009, where I worked out daily, if not twice a day, I had the mentality that if I worked out for a good hour or even twice a day I could eat anything including those fries or that ice cream. Um however, that obviously wasn't the case!  However I realized a few years later that I was doing something wrong because I wasn't seeing results or I was only seeing very little results, in both my clothes and the scale. I was not gaining weight but I wasn't losing weight or getting cut like I wanted too.  I was unhappy with the results.

However, thanks to Beachbody and clean eating I learned that the workout isn't 100% of getting results. Working out is definately part of it you just need to do both, workout and eat clean everyday, including snacks. You must eat 5-6 times a day. Remember nutrition is 80% of it and working out is only 20%. So if you have to choose which one to focus on first, I would recommend you doing the nutrition part and then when you have that down throw the workouts in too!

I know you can change your lifestyle. If I did it anyone can do it! :)

Here is a picture of me in the winter of 2009 and the other is of me last fall, 2013, after starting my Beachbody journey, clean eating and T25.

Week 3 of Insanity Meal Plan

Here is my meal plan for the third week of Insanity! I am loving the program so far however, I am not a big eater due to having celiacs disease, but man am I HUNGRY all the time doing this program. I can't drink enough water or eat enough on it! I am trying not to make out on my food but there are days I feel like I could eat the entire house! Do you ever have days like that? This week I tried to add more and make different things! I am excited to try the Quinoa Almond Joy Bars on Thursday! I haven't made them yet, so I will keep you posted on how they turn out!

Insanity starts Tomorrow!!!!

Tomorrow I start my journey with Insanity. Day 1 will be the Fit Test. I am excited and nervous at the same time. I am excited to start something new. Yet, I am nervous because of how long it is, how intense it is going to be, and I don't want to give up!! So you will be taking this journey with me and being my accountability partner. I plan on posting 5-7 days a week about my journey and how I truly feel, what I like and don't like and my meal plan.

I will be doing the 21 day fix meal plan along with the insanity program. I have to go up in containers from where I am at now. I am not happy about that because I struggle getting all my carbs / starches in on a daily basis because I have celiac's and have learned to live without them the past 14 years. However, I will eat everything I am told to eat because I want to have the energy and ability to do Insanity and say I finished it!

Here is a copy for my meal plan for week 1 of insanity.

Check back with me tomorrow on how Insanity Day 1 Fit Test Goes!! :)
